R. v I 2012

[2012] O.J. No. 2516

Mr. Connally's client trafficked 145 oxycontin pills to an undercover officer over the course of four separate transactions. Mr. Connally successfully argued that police had entrapped his client - that is, police had targeted Mr. Connally's client and offered him an opportunity to commit a criminal offence (trafficking) without reasonable suspicion that the client was already engaged in unlawful conduct. All charges were stayed and Mr. Connally's client walked out of the courtroom a free man.
